iListen

Right now, there are two types of music in my life. The first is the type I play, using the flute or trumpet. Playing and reading music is a skill one develops with hard practice and continues to develop has they gain experience. I first learned how to play music while learning to play the flute. Now, in my fourth year of playing, I am still learning much about the essentials of music. This year, I began learning to play the trumpet. This instrument is in an entirely different section called brass. The flute is a woodwind and is often used to play soft, mellow music whereas the trumpet can be used to play a loud and rhythmic jazz piece. But playing music is not the only way I connect to it.
I also listen to music just like the average person, admiring the talents of the artists. My style and tastes for music are not the normal likes of a typical Hispanic girl. Most of the songs I have on my iPod are rock, a genre I dedicate most of my listening time to. But then there are the exceptions. I have three songs in Spanish, one in Japanese, a few containing Latin lyrics, techno, classical, rap and more. I am proud of having such a diverse iPod. It reflects who I am, a person who does not immediately reject anything different from what I am accustomed to.
