I can bet that once a person sees these flowers, they will immediatley recognize them. But not by their name. No, these flowers are rarely called by their name. Even I don’t know what it is. The title of this picture of mystery plants is “When You Wish Upon a Flower”. This title purposely sounds similar to the famous song, “When You Wish Upon a Star”. This idea is widely accepted and I also may find myslef talking to a star one day. Who knows? But living in a big city means I can’t see very many stars, most of the ones I do see are merely helicopters fluttering high in the sky. So when I was a child I decided to wish on these flowers. Silly wishes, ones I don’t even remember. But I definetly remember feeling more comfortable, being closer to the object to which I entrusted my dreams and wishes. Touching it somehow made it more credible and easy to wish on than a star billions of miles away. After picking the biggest flower I could find, I let my wish go. I blew with all my might and watched as the little white flurries floated away, hoping my dream would come true. Even today, when I walk by these flowers I am tempted to pick one up and wish.Wednesday, March 3, 2010
