I consider a restaurant's smell to be it's greatest advantage. Though I don't have a favorite food, my favorite restaurants are Cinnabon and Subway for their smells. The smell of cinnamon fills all of the Cinnabon restaurants and draws me in every time. Subway has a completely different smell. It smells of all the spices and condiments that are put in the sandwiches, a smell so enticing, I find myself walking in just to smell. Since living in the city prevents me to breathe in and smell fresh air, these small prizes remind me of everything I cannot experience right now.

Sometimes My Nose Leads Me

Sweet and Sour, It's all the same.

When it comes to food, I don’t have any particular tastes. Gummy worms are nice but so are pastries. Sweet or sour, it doesn’t matter as long as it tastes good. My experience with food is very limited. Aside from a few Puerto Rican dishes and some Chinese, I am not very diverse in food. Food is not an important part of my life and I doubt it will ever be. But here are some of my likes: sour worms, salt & vinegar chips, cheesecake, tacos and more. Take me out to a fast food place and I'll be just as happy as I would be if I was dining in a high class restaurant.
When You Wish Upon a Flower
I can bet that once a person sees these flowers, they will immediatley recognize them. But not by their name. No, these flowers are rarely called by their name. Even I don’t know what it is. The title of this picture of mystery plants is “When You Wish Upon a Flower”. This title purposely sounds similar to the famous song, “When You Wish Upon a Star”. This idea is widely accepted and I also may find myslef talking to a star one day. Who knows? But living in a big city means I can’t see very many stars, most of the ones I do see are merely helicopters fluttering high in the sky. So when I was a child I decided to wish on these flowers. Silly wishes, ones I don’t even remember. But I definetly remember feeling more comfortable, being closer to the object to which I entrusted my dreams and wishes. Touching it somehow made it more credible and easy to wish on than a star billions of miles away. After picking the biggest flower I could find, I let my wish go. I blew with all my might and watched as the little white flurries floated away, hoping my dream would come true. Even today, when I walk by these flowers I am tempted to pick one up and wish.iListen

Right now, there are two types of music in my life. The first is the type I play, using the flute or trumpet. Playing and reading music is a skill one develops with hard practice and continues to develop has they gain experience. I first learned how to play music while learning to play the flute. Now, in my fourth year of playing, I am still learning much about the essentials of music. This year, I began learning to play the trumpet. This instrument is in an entirely different section called brass. The flute is a woodwind and is often used to play soft, mellow music whereas the trumpet can be used to play a loud and rhythmic jazz piece. But playing music is not the only way I connect to it.
I also listen to music just like the average person, admiring the talents of the artists. My style and tastes for music are not the normal likes of a typical Hispanic girl. Most of the songs I have on my iPod are rock, a genre I dedicate most of my listening time to. But then there are the exceptions. I have three songs in Spanish, one in Japanese, a few containing Latin lyrics, techno, classical, rap and more. I am proud of having such a diverse iPod. It reflects who I am, a person who does not immediately reject anything different from what I am accustomed to.
